    How often does Sony update their VIAO line?

    How often does Sony bring out new VIAOs? I noticed that most of their current computers came out last July/August. Does Sony completely replace their whole line up every year or sometimes do they just update the previous year's model? Are any of the current models they offer more than a year old? How long before new laptops come out do they get announced? I am thinking about getting an FW-ish model in May/June. In July/August will they just update the FW or come out with something new to replace it? Thank you.

    Sony just updated their FW line and I don't think they will come out with something completely new to replace it at least until next year.

    My general impression is that new models that come out for sale in August or later in the fall, often are announced in late May or the beginning of June.

    It depends a lot.
    The Sony SZ lived for 7 generations :)

    It came out autumn/winter 05 I think and was only replaced in Summer 08
    I know that the latter updates were in rather quick succession....
