I read a lot of bad reviews about the F series got broken down too soon after it's being used. Actually, I got the reviews from the sony website.. I'd rather hear from you guys with true experience. Are they really that reliable?

I need to have a laptop before September, so I wouldn't want to break it right after I recieve it. It's kind of urgency since I really need it to finish the work.

If you want absolute reliability you must not buy a consumer-grade notebook like the F, but a business line notebook like the Vaio BZ series, HP Elitebook, Dell Latitude, Lenovo ThinkPad.

Why is a consumer grade notebook not reliable?

Wow, that one has a carbon fiber case? I don't know if it's really 100% carbon fiber or just a sleeve of carbon fiber. Anyway, it's 13" which is too smal. The F series is the biggest screen of the current line up with 16"

I'm basically looking for a powerhouse laptop that is good for 2-5+ years from now. The new HP with 18.4" screen is my 2nd option.

Well, it all depends on whether you get a defective unit first time around.

My two issues with the F11
    1. Screen - vertical viewing angle too narrow. (switching the LCD panel of my FW490 soon.)
    2. BIOS corruptiion when unit is set on hibernate and the battery drains to 0%
This does not happen to everybody but it has to some. The only symptom is that the fan will run full blast at 100% NON-STOP. Immediate fix to a back-to-normal state is to unplug and replug the CMOS battery located next to the memory modules.

    Good things!!

    Quad-core all the way!!!
I have run a number of 3ds Max renderings some around 9-18 hours, one went over 24hours (with final gather and global illumination) and the notebook has remained pretty cool and has never crashed!! It blew my 3.06ghz C2D FW490 notebook by more than half in rendering time.

AutoCad 2010 is smooth sailing for me. (mostly 2d work but large files)

MelodyMaster has reported some pretty impressive results with his video editing work as well.

The 1gb GT330M is a more than capable card to play games especially since this is not a gaming machine.
See mangosango's game vids and benchmarking.

The F11 has an extremely comprehensive thread in this website. Good for all-around help and shooting the breeze.

I'll be getting the new Z pretty soon too as well as a couple of the refreshed F11's for my office.
