    I always forget to mute my laptop before turning it off and bring it to school, so whenever i turn on my computer, that loud vista startup sounds just goes off disrturbing the class..

    go control panel, sounds and finally remove the sound in the startup...
    (i hate all sounds produced by OS so i disable em all)
