I'm sure there's a thread out there somewhere that has already dealt with this, but I can't find it... Anyway, how do you disable the Vaio logo on startup. I know how it used to be done in BIOS on other systems, but this doesn't work on the Z. Also no option available in the Vaio Control Center that I can find. Please help. Thanks!

    Good question.

Why would you want to disable it anyway? Do you like watching the motherboard post?

I guess I don't really need to worry about it, I was just performing a bunch of Vista tweaks and wondered if there was a way to disable the Vaio screen too.

I wonder if it would reduce the time the BIOS needs to start...
It takes long compared to other PC's...

See if there is a "Quiet Boot" option in the BIOS. If there is, try disabling it. The boot-logo screen only hides the POST, and it will just affect the time taken for POST by -2 seconds or so.

I'm not too worried about this anymore, since it really does only take 2 seconds. But just for those interested, there is definitely NOT a Quiet Boot option in my version of BIOS. There isn't even an Advanced section, as there was on so many other Vaios that I've owned.
