    Hi..

Is there a guide that explains how it is possible to successfully edit a bios file for flashing? Or could a person explain how it should be done.

I want to change the settings for when the fan has to start. So that the fan doesn’t start at 40 C but at 55 C or even at 65 C. I know that the CPU can take it. But the GPU hmm that’s a problem. I don’t want to damage the GPU whit this mod. But just to get that dame fan to get quiet.

Its a Phoenix bios. It says so on the boot screen.

BiosMan does custom edits, or has just about anything you want to know BIOS related - BiosMan.com

I have similar question and BIOSMan does not deal with it.
I need to change default voltages processor is working on. I cannot use RMClock because it is not compatiblie with AMD/Nvidia chip combo.

It is a Phoenix BIOS running Compaq v6000 with Turion X2. I have already edited logos and unlocked non-HP wireless cards so I roughly know my way around the edition. Nonetheless, I don't know how to go about changing the voltages.

What settings are you looking to change? The settings I change was the whitelist of wifi cards and the splash screen.

And maybe open the option for unlock VID to 0.712 volt ATM I think the lowest VID setting is 0.950 volt.

It certainly can mess it up so you better have an usb floppy drive ready together with a recovery floppy.

correct me if i am wrong, if you really screw up your "basic input output system" how is a floppy gonna be of any use to you? as your ports are not gonna be working...

USB floppy recovery is made for the purpose of recovering laptops with screwed bioses.

ah i just googled it seems to be something new, apparently certain bios models will load images off floppy/cd and overright it self, pretty neat.
