This morning my "Matshita DVD-RAM UJ-852S" optical drive on my SZ460 decided to not be recognized by Vista. Booting from the drive worked but windows didn't recognize it and gave a code 39 corrupt failure of the driver or something like that.
I've been searching for a fix on here and saw that many people have had this same issue and it's pretty crappy. I tried restores, complete backup restores, and nothing fixed it. Possible source of problem is un-installing Roxio burning software.
