Is there some way to manipulate the keys so that the letters Å, Ä, Ö can be written? Or to put them somewhere within the toolbars of Wordpad, Microsoft Works, and Internet Explorer, where they are easily accessible?

I tried changing the keyboard language settings in Windows, but this was not successful.

Since you can already type this thread with the letters Å, Ä, Ö, you already have the answer to your own question.

    I retrieved them from Googling. That's a very time-consuming procedure. :(

try character mapping, if you do not have a german keyboard then its way too difficult to get it withone key stroke.. or else jes change your keyboard language to German, and try to press all the keys in the keyboard and you would get the umlaute.

    Thank you.
I think it's getting close. I found the Character Map and the letters are there.
Although it is a slow way of getting them. I also set the language options to Swedish on US keyboard. But can't find a combination of keys that will make these letters.

There is supposedly some tool called IMEs (input method editors) that let's you input foreign characters on a standard keyboard, but couldn't find it. Do you know how to program combinations of keys to show certain characters?

I am so tired I hardly know where I am. My eyes go crosswise, my brain is delirious with twisted conceptions of reality, and I am not sure if its day or night, morning or evening, even if I look out the window.
Trying to figure out this computor is not like a regular job, with set hours, after which you can go home and sleep. :swoon:
