As many other Jap manufacturers, SONY pre-loaded its laptop heavily with all kinds of software. Sadly most of them are just crap / outdated. (My brand new FE11H came with Skype 1 beta and Google Desktop beta 1 =___=)
the more icons you have in ur system tray the slower system you'll have... so i've spent a whole nite uninstalling these craps and upgraded my ram to 2GB!!!
now the system shuts down in 3 seconds (coz i've disable virtual memory hence no page-file clean up process), but log-in VERY VERY slowly i.e. after i typed in my password it took about 1 and a half minute to show the desktop icons. (The harddisc isnt reading during the time, CrlAltDel shows CPU usage close to nil) ... looks like another typical UNFIXABLE windows problem.
wat should i do ? if i choose to recover the syste, those crappy software will be re-loaded again, if i use a clean windows xp to do the installation, you know i can't find a lot of driver and sony's advance control functions wil be disabled...
geez....some advices will be very nice... and sry about the poor english.

Reformate the computer and start from scratch.... if your notebook came with a Windows XP cd...

it stores all the recovery files in a hidden partition and if i recover frm there all crappy software will be re-loaded during the recovery process... wat can i do -
make recovery dvds then reformat the whole thing and install a clean copy of XP (if you have one). After you finish installing XP, you can stick in the recovery dvd which will pop up a menu where you can select the drivers and programs you want to install. Well that was the case for my TX.

Ive done this on my Sony S460, make your recovery disks , run them after restart put in your computer details again, the notebook then restarts eject the disks before it trys to install all the crap , remove the programme from the programme menu startup list, so it doesnt keep tryin to install everytime you switch on and bobs your aunty a clean install with all the crap missing
+ all drivers are already installed -
How to get rid of the crappy pre-loaded software.?????
