So my friend and I go to the same school, have the same classes.

He has a TX model, and I have a SZ model.

He has no trouble with the school internet, he is always connected.
As for me, I always keep getting disconnected, lose the hotspots, taking forever to connect etc etc.

And its not only at school either, his TX outperforms my SZ (in WIFI) pretty much anywhere.

How do I improve the WIFI connectivity of my notebook?
(by the way, I tried using windows and intel WIFI management, same problems with both)

    thanks!

Are you running WinXP or Vista RC1/2/Beta 2?

You can get better reception by playing around with wireless features. Turn off IPv6. Upgrade your WiFi card driver. You can adjust the radio frequency channel as well. Getting rid of interference, such as active cell phones, some radios and other electronics will help. There are other things to do...which other people will mention.

If you go into your wireless card properties->advanced there are some settings you can mess around with. That might boost your signal strength when you're on batteries. By default, at least on my laptop, during battery mode, my wifi is set to a lower power setting.
