Might be a stupid question, but the manual says "You can insert a Duo-Sized memory stick media directly into the Memory Stick slot without using a Memory Stick Duo Adaptor.

How exactly do I do that? The slot looks too deep.

it's exactly as it says.. you need the adapter. it usually comes with the duo memory stick when you buy it as an accessory.

No, you can insert a duo memory stick in there with no issues.
Your right, the slot looks deep but duo goes in no problem.
In fact, my duo sticks out of my slot very slightly, about 1mm.

In fact, a while back, I tried to put in my duo with the converter and it wouldn't go in! I have no idea how that can be, maybe my converter is a bit bent.

I can stick in a memory stick duo into the slot, perfectly. It also works with the adapter, too. It should fit. At least, it does for me.

Thanks for the tip guys! I didn't realize I could put me MS Pro Duo in the slot without the adapter until I read this thread! Way to go!

Its nervous'n the first time because you think such a small card is going to just go in, never stop and get stuck deep in there. But it magically stops with a nice spring action :D

Yeah it works without the adapter, but I prefer it with if its going to stay in the computer. With just the duo in there it looks like it could be moved around and break the slot. With the adapter it feels more solid and wont move up and down.

Just to clarify.. a Duo stick can go too far in and get stuck. The smaller Duo works perfectly when inserted at the lower-half of the slot and it clicks into place. However, I somehow managed to insert a Duo up too high in the slot and it went in about half a centimeter too far and got stuck. Luckily I was able to use the adapter to pry underneath it and guide the dang thing back out again. Think I'll just stick to using the adapter for now.. just in case.

I'm afraid that hasn't happened to me.

The issue I have is that my Duo sticks will go in perfectly but the adaptor will not go in my TZ all the way, it only goes in about half-way into the slot no matter what I do. It goes in half way and if I push it in any further, it gets pushed out by the spring.

Perhaps my slot is defective. Others aren't having my issue. :(
