I placed my VAIO Z against a tile wall, and just so happen that piece of tile have an invisible crack on it. Ended up getting some pretty light scratches on the back side of the LCD...

Anyone had any luck removing some really light scratches off of these carbon fiber lids? I thought about using polish, but these lids are brush finished so, polish probably wouldn't work unless i polish the whole thing...

I would really appreciate any tips on removing these scratches or other solutions.

I also have a prem carbon lid with some scratches made by the sony rep who built it. I guess, unfortunately, you have to live with them. It is very hard to take a picture showing the scratch due to the special reflective, brushed surface of the lid, that's why I was not very successful getting my out-of-the-box scratched lid replaced by sony.

Same problem here. Sent the laptop for repair to Sony because of a broken display and it came back with some scratches on the lid. Very annoying.

The lid finish is really only a thin layer of lacquer, so you can't polish away any scratches, or you'll remove the finish too, and end up with a black spot.

There's a product called Quixx scratch remover that is generally designed for cars, but essentially the way it works is that you match the color of your car (in this case laptop) to the compound, and then apply it like nail polish over the scratch. When the compound dries, the scratch is filled in and is a lot less noticeable. I've done this before and it works fine, and if you're really concerned about aesthetics then maybe this is the way to go. Hope that helps! :)
