Hello, I am pretty new at notebooks, and I hear VAIO laptops are quite hard to open and replacing memory and such. I was wondering how do you exactly open a FZ190 to replace it's memory, I haven't a clue where to look and such. Thanks

    Regards,
    James

Start with the screws on the bottom... then carefully get the keyboard off... dunno from there. If you're lucky the ram slot'll be right there under the keyboard. Well if you're real lucky it was under a little lid on the bottom like most sane laptops.

actually its much easier than that. if you're talking about ram, its just one screw, middle panel on the under side of the laptop. the ram just pops in and out, couldnt be easier really! let me know if you need some more help.

Thank God... I've seen some other VAIO's, it took like 30 screws to just open it... Just needed to know before I buy it, plan on adding a 2GB stick of RAM, so I can use more applications like Dreamweaver and such. The FZ seems to be a really good laptop from what I heard... I was considering a Macbook pro, but it doesn't really seem worth it, when you add the extra memory I need and Windows XP.
