    Hi to all
I just bought a Sony vaio VGN FW 12G, great machine indeed, but I also have a small baby that sleeps in the same room where I work with the vaio, and I cannot find any way to turn off the keyboard mouse clicksound ?
It is not that annoying, but it is pretty loud, and in the silence of the night, it panicks me it is waking up my little sleeper...
and by the way, neither did i manage to turn off the sound of typing on the keys, I went through the whole control panel options, but without success ...

thanks for your help , it will make a happy baby and happy dad :D

If someone is sleeping and shouldn't be woken up, use "mute" to turn off all sound.

If you mean the mechanical sound the touchpad buttons make, that's not something you can easily turn off
You could weaken the bubbles with some carefully applied heat and/or add a dampened conductive layer to the contacts, but either is going to require more than a little skill. Unless you solder surface mount components and repair analog watches for fun, chances are you'd botch it, and end up with the keys not working at all, and only a voided warranty.

Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Change system sounds > change sound scheme to "No Sounds", click OK

other than this, i don't understand what you mean... i'm sure it's not the mechanical sounds you're talking about because you'd have to be pretty crazy with those buttons and keys if you can make enough sound to wake your child

I have a very simple solution....well two solutions:

    1. Instead of using the physical mouse buttons simple double tap the touch pad....if this is not enabled it is simple to enable it via mouse properties in control panel or...
    2. buy a mouse...and test it out to make sure it has silent clicking operation...

I suggest double tap...its noiseless (as in tapping the touch pad to execute commands)
