I have sony vaio FE series (dual 1.83 centrinos)

I don't see option to turn on or use the bluetooh anywhere!
Yup I have a hardware button switch for the wireless, but when its on i see only the standart wireless network, no bluetooth!

So, how im supposed to turn on and use the bluetooth?

    thanks in advance!

There should be a wireless switch utility in the taskbar that will let you control wireless and bluetooth.

    Desktop

My Network Places > Right Click > BlueTooth > Double Click

Also, go under services under Adminstrative Tools and check if any BlueTooth related stuff is disabled!

Sony has forced you into using their connection manager. Go ti the task bar. It is a black icon with white horizontal lines. Double click. Enable or shut down your blue tooth. I believe that you have to have the wireless switch to the yes position, but you can turn off wireless from the Sony connection manager as well.

Thank you guys but i don't have anything saying bluetooth on the mentioned places, but on the "Wireless Device Switch" window i have two options

    "Enable 2.4 GHz Wireless LAN"
    and
    "Enable 5 GHz Wireless LAN"

maybe the 5GHz option is the bluetooth? But even when i check it I still can't find a way to use like for example to send files to other bluetooth device like my cell phone....

uh im pretty lost with this bluetooth thing

    Maybe you should try this.

    Go to

Control Panel > System > Hardware (Tab) > Device Manager

Look for bluetooth and see if the device is working properly. If you see the yellow " ! " and it has something related to bluetooth then you might want to delete it and install it again.

If can also uninstall and install the driver again if the device is working properly.

Download the driver from supprt from Sony.

Is there a chance that i don't have bluetooth at all?
I bought ready configuration in a shop in USA

What is the model number? I think you should go to sony support site and check the spec for your model.

Mostly, you don't have bluetooth beccause I check Sony Canada and they still carry the Dual Core version and they don't have bluetooth

Your model number should be just below your LCD on the left side or you can check on the bottom of the computer, there should be a Sony printing (Model will be different than that under the screen but that is ok)

yeah thanks i found it! :)

on the sony's site the bluetooth is under "Optional Accessories"

this combined with the fact that i can't find it anywhere i guess means that i don't have bluetooth?!?!
