Hello,
I am owner of VPCZ21M9E ( Click for spec.VPCZ21M9E) , am I very dissapointed with 128GB SSD.
1. Is is possible to exchange it to have 256GB as on VPCZ21M9E ( Click for spec. VPCZ21M9E)
2. Also, is is possible to change 4GB ram to 8GB as on VPCZ21M9E
I would really appreciate your support.
Maciek
P.S. I tried to research it on forum, but after spending few hours (great forums, huge amount of information), but I am still not sure.

You need pricey Sony parts for upgrading. RAM and SSD sandwich are proprietary. Check out eBay, purchasing the parts from Sony will cost you an arm and a leg.

How can I identify parts needed parts (especially SSD) not to make a mistake during purchase? -
You have 2 options for upgrading your SSD.
512GB Amazon.com: Original Samsung 512GB Micro Sata SSD 1.8" MZRPA512HMFU-000S0 MZ-RPA5120/0S0 For Sony VPC-Z2 SA SB SD series SSD VPC-Z217GH Z21 Z219: Computers & Accessories
256GB Amazon.com: Original Samsung 256gb Micro Sata SSD 1.8" Mzrpa256hmdr-000s0 Mz-rpa2560/0S0 for Sony VPC Z21 SA SB SD Z217GH Z219: Electronics
I bought both of these drives to upgrade my Z2 and friends.
However, RAM is nearly impossible to find because it is Sony's proprietary.
If your laptop has 4GB, I guess it is 2x2GB, so you need 2x4GB to get 8GB. -
There was a similar thread about this issue about a year ago: http://forum.notebookreview.com/sony/621931-sony-vaio-z2-memory-upgrade-possible.html
I think that you may be screwed with the RAM. SSD is upgradeable as the the post above mine indicates.
