    How to use Sony SZ Vista Backup Partition?

    I'm now running XP and has completely removed the original Vista installation on Sony SZ.

    I'm thinking now of dual booting XP and Vista and plan to reinstall vista using the Vista backup partition inside the Sony SZ Hard Drive.

    But how to extract Vista from the backup partition inside the HDD created by Sony when the SZ laptop was new? What program to use of what to do do?

    Once you install windows XP on a pc that came with vista the restore partition is deleted by windows XP .

    This is why it is important to make recovery disks using the vaio recovery center while it still has vista on the pc .

    XP will automatically format the pc's hard drive if you use the xp downgrade disks provided by sony .

    If you used a OEM or retail XP disk to install , your recovery partition may be intact , but the sony downgrade disk will nuke your recovery partition .
