So what's the build quality like on the Z? I want a laptop that I can travel OS with that is powerful and light, but will also withstand a few bumps and drops and overall pressure from being crammed inside a backpack/suitcase. Is the Z out of the question here? it seems a little fragile when I play with them in shops. Any other suggestions?

Please share any experiences you've had.. Thanks!

Indeeded it does. For travel, I recommend placing a shammy between the screen and the keyboard/palmrest.
If the laptop is going to be stowed, you also need a very hard case (read: metal), because the lid gives, and anything pressing on it will compress the LCD itself.
There are laptops sturdy enough to sit on. The Z isn't one of them.

Finally got the chance to handle / test a Z. When you look at it from the side with the lid closed there is clearly daylight between the keys and the screen. But it doesn't take a whole lot of pressure on the lid to make it bend inward and touch. If I buy one, I'll probably get a case for just the Z. If I carried it in a regular briefcase, with documents, books, or whatever, I would definitely buy a lint-free cloth to place over the keyboard - and maybe the palmrest also if it doesn't get in the way of closing the lid normally.

edit: arth beat me to it!

Are they so lightweight (3.4 lbs), powerfull (up to 2.93 Ghz) and have so small footprint (12.4", 1.0 - 1.3" x 8.3") too?

If you know any laptops with such specifications and they are so sturdy to sit on, please let us know.

Those videos seem just a little too clinical and perfect as it only hits on a flat edge. I'd like to see it hit a corner or something. seems a bit suss anyway.

Anyone care to to try it with theirs and video it :p
