Finally got my TXN17P, and like everyone else discussed in the other threads about the hump, I myself got lucky and have a very noticable hump, and you can feel it when typing. I have noticed the TXN2x series has a little less noticable hump than mine TXN17P, so what should I do? should I exchange the computer or this can be fix or altered to be less noticable like the newer TXN2x? forgive me if this has been discussed in length before, as I only heard about it in some threads, but there is no thread about it by itself. any help or thoughts well be greatly appreciated as my screen has no stuck nor dead pixles, so would hate to exchange just because of the hump.

The "hump" on my TX850P/B is barely noticable. I can not feel it when I type nor can I really see it unless I look for it.

Has anyone discovered what exactly is causing this hump? Is it a piece of hardware that has been changing with the different models of the TX series?

I think you are going to have to decide for yourself whether or not you should exchange it since everyone's tolerance level for this type of thing differs. It may be something that, as time goes on, will bother you less and less. If the return policy of the store allows, I would keep it for a few days, use it, and see if it continues to bother you as much as it currently does.

Well, I am just wondering by exchanging it, will I get a better model that is less intrusive than the one I have. if they are all the same, then I have no problem keeping it, but I would hate that some computer it's more noticeable than other.

I noticed a very small hump on the left side of my TXN27N's keyboard. I think it was around the "s", "d", and "f" keys. What part of the keyboard is your hump in?

the bulge was at S, D,X,C,Alt,Windows Key, those are the most noticable and when you type, you can feel the bulge too. IsLNdbOi, while I remember you have the TXN2x series, it seems that the TXN2x at sony stores are better than my TXN17P, even my brother say so. Every TXN in the sony store has the little hump, but none of them looked as bulged as my TXN. :(
Are there any fix for those things? what's underneth the hump for those that have open up their notebook?

I called Sony concerning the hump on my 17P and the tech had no clue what I was talking about. However, he told me to send it in for inspection. I have yet to send in my computer due to the advertised "2 week turnaround" time.

My "hump" is located on the left hand side of the keyboard on the "a,s,d" keys.
