    Hi,

I want to buy an used docking station for the TZ series. My budget is around 110 $.

Does anyone has this docking station and is willing to sell it ?

    i live in Europe.

    Thanks,

Ditto. I bought mine on eBay for $106 a month ago, the seller was shopdango. I haven't seen them cheaper anywhere else.

I have seen it on Amazon for $98. I went to order later and it jumped back up. Check them.

Reading some reviews ..i didn't get this right , maybe someone can clarify this for me :

Does this docking station needs and power adapter ? I mean, if i have an usb mouse plugged in, isn't it possible to charge itself directly from the notebook ?

    Thanks

The opposite happened to me. I was watching the shopdango auction with a BIN price of $150 and missed the deadline but no one had bought it. When I clicked the "relisted" link, it was $106, so I jumped.

I'm unclear on the question, ivlgenius. You have to plug your power adapter into the dock, but from there it can power everything you attach - mice, keyboards, external drives, etc. The only thing plugged into my dock that has a separate power suply is the external monitor.

You see i have only 1 power adapter ( at home ) , and i don't want to take that to me to the work. SO i wanted to know if the docking station is able to take energy from the battery to power the mouse ( the printers have their own power adapters ) ?

    Thanks

the docking station is worthless without a power adapter plugged into it. it won't do ANYTHING.

A BIG Thanks for this last and vital info, you just spare me some 130 $ !

I will just get a regular USB Hub.

I read somewhere that some of the Sony docking stations have a problem with resolution. Something about it not automatically switching back and forth between the laptop's resolution and the external monitor's resolution.

Is this true with the TZ's dock? It would be a pain to have to manually change the res every time the laptop is connected & disconnected from the docking station.

I finally found a resolution for this. If you change back to lcd only mode before you undock, it will remember the resolution when you re-dock and switch back external monitor mode.
