Ok, so i buy a fz190 and I love it, then like a month later the fz2 series comes out... urgh! and it's basically the same price...
what are the differences between fz and fz2?
-
I am not sure of the specs of fz190, but basically just a better processor/more hard disk space/2gb standard memory.
-
It seems every three to four months each model gets a refresh...that is the way of the business and that is how they make money. Customers want the best and the newest thing out there...and they know it!

That's technology. Old ones constantly get replaced by new ones. I guess you just have to deal with it and not regret.
-
As someone who got the very first TZ in America on June 13, I can tell you that I'm now buying a third-generation model in November. Holy cow!!! Now that's what we call progress!
-
its pretty dumb to make a statement and have no idea what the difference is. what if the new model had a crappier processor and a tiny little hard drive. would you still feel ripped off because it has a newer model number?
think before you post.
ETA: my computer fz190 with t7300(which is better than a t7250) 1 gig ram, 100 gig hd and 8400gt came out to $1248. The fz290 with t7250 and same specs(except 120 gig hd) cost $1298.
Damn, I feel ripped off too! I bought a better computer for a cheaper price. -
So when will the fz -300 series come out? You will be ripped off twice, haa haa.
-
You can't wait and wait for all of the new things to come out, as this new FZ series came out, the refresh is already done for next time, so don't be down.
IF you want to buy a computer buy it, because if you wait for every "new" thing to come out, youll never get it!!! -
did you not even look at the 2 before posting this?
the t7250 is a crappier processor compared to the t7300....just by common sense you could say, well 7300 is a higher number than 7250 so just maybe the 7300 is better....the 7300 has double the cache compared to the 7250
please try to actually research for posting stuff like this -
Sony does seem to update their notebooks more than many of the other manufacturers. That can be a bad or good thing, depending on your view.
-
-
you shouldnt feel 'ripped off'. notebooks get updated all the time as someone said. be glad you got as much as you could afford at the time you bought, thats all that matters.
-
well free extended battery is just like a coupon - it only lasts for a bit and it is not a "update"
and hard drive options, i suppose i wouldnt like that but at the same time, i would rather have the cache from the processor and upgrade the hard drive then get a hard drive and not be able to upgrade the cpu (technically u could, but its quite a bit more complicated) -
when is the new SZ coming out? Anyone care to guess?
-
maybe this time next year
-
No way. It'll definitely be sooner than that. The SZ3 series came out last August, and they're already up to the SZ6 series.
I expect an update by February. -
-
-
yea i doubt there will be an sz7 or 8, you never know though.
-
I feel ripped off by Sony.. with the FZ series..
