Download the sony utilities for the BX760P1. Extract them using universal extractor and install the setup in folder VPM. It will install vaio power managemment into the XP power options area.
-
vaio camera capture utility will also work from this download.

yea/
when you run the uninstaller it breaks the whole package down to each utility.
the folder you want to run the setup from (inside that big folder that contains all the utilities) is the folder titled VPM. -

a question for you ... is there anything else that is not working?
-
i just got bluetooth to install and it recognizes my phone...so it is working too.
-
ah, before I forget, be sure to DL and install "sony shared library and sony utilities DLL" first before you install anything else.
My function keys are being recognized but I can only get the brightness down about 1 notch right now.
more to come later... -
here is the extractor utility to get around the model-checking... http://legroom.net/software/uniextract#download

hmm, the power management stuff has installed but whenever I try to change the vaio PM options I get a dll error....
the bluetooth and camera utils are 100% though... -
question: does the multimedia keys work????
thanks, -
as an update to the dll.error this one: ftp://ftp.vaio-link.com/pub/OS/XPDOWNGRADE/TX5/UTILITIES/
will give you full config options with no dll error... -
I was able to successfully install it and I have the icon on the bottom right hand corner, but nothing happens when I click on it, I have tried double left click, single click, single right click...any ideas?

Guys, I think this suggestion isn't working for FZ. I have FZ 140 E, install everything, power management tab appeared in windows power options, but nothing happens. Only volume and mute buttons works. I installed Sony Utillites dll, sony shared library, VAIO Event Service. Only way to reduce brightness is through Intel GMA driver options. Sorry for my English.

Does anyone know how to make brightness key to work on FZ with X3100? For GeForce with Smartdimmer there is a solution to use Fixed ini in Event Service folder
I got Vaio Power management to work on FZ190 with XP
