Download the sony utilities for the BX760P1. Extract them using universal extractor and install the setup in folder VPM. It will install vaio power managemment into the XP power options area.

    yea/

when you run the uninstaller it breaks the whole package down to each utility.

the folder you want to run the setup from (inside that big folder that contains all the utilities) is the folder titled VPM.

ah, before I forget, be sure to DL and install "sony shared library and sony utilities DLL" first before you install anything else.

My function keys are being recognized but I can only get the brightness down about 1 notch right now.

    more to come later...

Guys, I think this suggestion isn't working for FZ. I have FZ 140 E, install everything, power management tab appeared in windows power options, but nothing happens. Only volume and mute buttons works. I installed Sony Utillites dll, sony shared library, VAIO Event Service. Only way to reduce brightness is through Intel GMA driver options. Sorry for my English.

Does anyone know how to make brightness key to work on FZ with X3100? For GeForce with Smartdimmer there is a solution to use Fixed ini in Event Service folder
