Ok, this is what just happened to me.
I have a vaio fz in wich I have windows vista (factory) and kubuntu installed.
So, grub is the default boot loader.
I wanted to do a semi clean install (the one in this web). So I just did. And I partitioned my HDD so I could have vista, kubuntu and ubuntu ll on the same drive. Anyways that's not the problem.
The thing is I run recovery center as stated, it formatts the drive and then reebot (where it's supposed to install default programs, the step where you have to kill the process to stop the bloatware doom installation). Here is the problem... the recovery center reboots itself and voila... grub loader pops up and reads "error 17". there's no OS, not even the same partitions, but the grub loader's still there and that messes up EVEN the recovery center...
How can i just recover my system?? I have made 2 recovery discs just in case haha.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Sorry guys, problems solved, you can just close this topic.
The problem was I was running recovery center form the HDD and so the boot loader was grub... but if you run it from the DVDs it automatically reinstall the vista loader =D
Everything's fine now. I have a semi clean system installed and right now I'm installing Kubuntu. Then Ubuntu. And a full 24 hours possibly to get everything working flawlessly =D
I have a superproblem... =P
