    Hi all,

I have just disabled the Realtek sound device from my
Sony Vaio VGN-N250FH and now I have no sound at all.
It happened as follows: I was working with my laptop and suddenly
a black and white volume control popped up in the middle of the screen.
I tried to make it disappear but it did not work. I also tried to
control it from the icon on the right corner of the screen but no
way, so I opened the Control Panel, double clicked on the sound icon there
    and inadvertently disabled the device.
Now I have no sound at all and I do not know how can I restore things to the initial settings.

    Can anybody help me? :)

Goto device manager and check if "Sound device controller" shows anything. If it is disabled, you can enable it under the driver tab.

If there is nothing there, just reboot, and let windows find it and reinstalls the driver. You can also reinstall the driver your self from vail recovery center.
