.its poorly built. My battery wobbles which seems to be the same on evey sz. But i havenow discovered that the connection between my headphone port and my speakers etc is loose. The speakers will work and then i will plug in headphones/external speakers, and when i unplug the headphones/external speaker the internal speakers will no longer work. But when i plug the headphones in partially the internal speakers will start working again. Estimations on how long it takes for the speakers/headphone jack to stop working completely?

Any ideas on how to repair the problem without voiding my warranty?

this sounds more like a loose contact issue. ordinarily these aren't too hard to fix(reconnecting wires), but it would require you to open the laptop which voids the warrenty. just send it back for repair.
Your battery issue is normal. from what i have heard sony has done that to every single notebook they developed. just set it down somewhere and you won't even notice it.

One of my biggest gripes about the SZ is that battery, they could have done a better job.

EDIT: how long have you had yours ringmasta?

I don't know about other current models of the Vaio type laptops from Sony, but I know the version prior to the SZ, the S Series also had the wobbly battery issue.

There are possibly solutions we can do as end-user to fix it but obviously it is something that Sony should have addressed themselves instead of leaving it alone.

As for the loose contact issue I think its probably better to contact Sony about that.

If you've had yours for under a month, depending on where you purchased it, you may be able to return it for an exchange. That would in my opinion be your best solution.

problem is, i ordered it online from sony style which means i will have to risk posting it back, and then wait for a replacement (or repaired notebook) to be redelivered. Which going on their performance previously will keep being delayed.
