Any one knows or have a Dual SSD (128GBx2) that I can buy for my Z?

I currently have the (64GBx2) and really really need to maintain my RAID-0 config.

No way that I buy an HDD caddy, nor I want to loose Raid-0.

So where can I get this package from? I don't even know what to write in the SEARCH field inside eBay or even Google. The only thing I regret while getting my Z was to choose 128GB over the 256GB option, I'm pulling my hair now, but just hope to find a user that wants to upgrade from 256 to 512, or a standalone SSD.

Please enlighten me guys, and if you have it for sale then let me know plz.

Part number for the (128GBx2) SSD would be so much welcomed too.

    Thanks big time.

    Will

You should be able to buy Crucial C300 1.8 inch SSDs. They come in 64, 128 or 256 Gb size and will be fit perfectly. Good luck.

I don't think any aftermarket SSD will fit in the bracket that the current SSDs are housed in. If you look at the SSD replacement thread for the Z here, the poster did not use the brackets that came with the laptop. He also had to take the C300 out of its casings. I'm in the same boat, I want to get the 256, but don't want to buy $560 worth of SSDs (C300) and then have to take it out of the casing to void the warranty.

Hey willy, i just went to that parts site and looked up:
    Model Prefix: VPCZ
    Description: SSD

    and i got this:
    https://www.servicesplus.sel.sony.com/PartsPlusResults.aspx?stype=parts

I guess the $270 is the 128 GB?
    $583/$626 - 256 gb?
    $1200 - 512 gb?

Or i could be totally wrong and it could be 64, 128 and 256 respectively... although these are parts for the VPCZ11, in which the 128GB configuration was 1x128GB physically... so a 1x64GB ssd would not have been sold.

I guess you can call in to Sony Support and ask them which is which. In any case, good luck! :)

No, you can't. The SDD drives in the VGN-Z are not standard 1.8" size.

You may be able to make a single one of them fit at an angle by removing the casing first and using a special connector, but that will be far from a perfect fit, and certainly not bracketed.

I think we're talking about the VPC-Z and AFAIK, the drives inside the Z are supposedly just stripped down 1.8" drives... Ask Enny02 who replaced both his Toshiba SSDs with a 1.8" C300 and a Samsung drive

The drives in the z are smaller than 1.8's but you can make stripped 1.8's fit.
