    Thanks Babydarklord.

I have looked for it in Sony, but it's Vista Home Edition only.
My Sony Vaio SZ-440 is Vista Business

    ( RDVD FOR VGNSZ440/480E - Vista Home Edition ), Y8315899A, $28.95 ea.

I need a SZ440 Recovery DVD set original...

If you have Vista Business, perhaps try out the Backup Vista offers. Type "backup" in Vista's in-built search, and select "Backup and Restore Center"

Then you will see the option to click "Backup Computer" which will back up your entire computer for restoration. I assume you will click that option and then go through a few DVDs to back up your entire computer.

I just discovered this and posted in another thread, but have not tried it out since I already have recovery disks for my SZ. Maybe try it out and let the community know how it is.

Vista SP1 will come with a new feature that exclusively creates Recovery Disks for you. SP1 will be made available publicly from Microsoft sometime this week.

    Hello

What do i recommend just contact sony parts and ask for Vgn-sz440N recovery disk they will be checking it for you.Because this unit is CTO model and you can choose if it's vista premium or vista business. What happened to your notebook did it crash or it has a Bad HDD.

I recently purchased SZ480 CTO. Wanted to install windows XP. I did not create recovery disk and installed XP thinking it will detect and enable dual boot. But it did not. Is there anyway I can get the previous Vista partition enabled?

    Thanks in advance.
