To make a long story kind of short I went into starbucks today for some coffee between classes. I pull out my new SZ and noice the WWAN antenna is missing I figured it came unpluged which has happened before and I simply retrieve it from th bottom of my laptop case pop it back in and keep going but it wasn't in my case it wasn't in my house and as far as I could tell it wasn't on the starbucks floor. I figure no big deal I will just order a new one but cant find the replacment on sony.com. I don't use WWAN but I don't
want a gaping hole in the side of My lappy also I may want to use it later is there any place I could find a replacment part for cheap.

P.S. shame on sony for making such a chintzy antenna

The antenna is designed to be removed if desired.
Call Sony parts at 18004887669 to order another.

I would look for a piece of rubber that you can cut with a razor blade or scissors to make a jerry rigged plug that fits into the hole, luckly the antenna on my VGN-330P/B is still intact and I attached it to the laptop semi permanently with double sided tape to keep it from braking off.

You can get chromed cap (similar to the one on the other side of the computer) to cover the opening. I believe "266347201 CAP HINGE " is the item you need, but verify that with Sony before you order.

    800-488-7669

Keep in mind that you will have to remove about 5 screws in order to access the antenna mount and replace with the cap.

If you're still looking to replace the antenna, this looks like its the correct part:
    "266344601 COVER ANTENNA C $25.27"
    Again, verify before ordering.

I have recently ordered both of those parts in an attempt to get rid of my antenna and plug the hole, as i was told you could do by the Sonystyle moron among others. However, the first part you mentioned must indeed need some screws removed to install--something you do at risk of voiding warranty and killing your computer. The second part you listed is not even close to the right thing. It is a flat piece of plastic which has "Sony" written on it and must go on the cover. perhaps its a wifi antenna wire inside or something. whatever, i have no idea what part is the alleged "cap" which one can "pop" in after removing the antenna. good luck finding any part with sony. i don't think the people on the phone have ever even seen a sony product, much less know which part is which.
