My battery for my Sony Vaio VGN-SR290 seems to have run it's course. It doesn't even charge beyond 30% it seems. I think I definitely need a new one. I've been looking around online, and there are some third party types, but I just ran across another thread in here where someone was having trouble with that and another person replied never to purchase third party batteries for Sony Vaio laptops, because Sony makes sure those don't work with their models. I don't mind getting a new battery from Sony, but I checked around for my model and I couldn't find it. It's not on their website unless I just missed it. If anyone could help me out I'd really appreciate it. Thanks.
EDIT: I think I found it on Sony's website?
http://store.sony.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?catalogId=10551&storeId=10151&langId=-1&productId=8198552921666082481&tab=featuresTab
It's the one that looks like my battery the most. And it's features tab on that page it says it's compatible with the SR Series (mine), but when I clicked on compatibility tab and it shows all the pictures of the notebooks past and present that the battery will work for, the SR Series doesn't have a picture and it's not there. So I'm not sure what the deal is.

That does seem like the correct one since it says its compatible with SR.
I also checked the parts and accessories website, and if your put in your model number there, it lists 2 compatible batteries. When i bought my SR I received a free battery from a promotion and its model number is VGP-BPS13A/B. -
Thanks for the response.
