Recently I sent my Sony Vaio FW for repair because of a wobbly power input casing problem. Initially after it was sent back I was quite happy with the results, but today I have noticed the sony technican has placed the power input casing akwardly, its beginning to creak, wobble and move much more than it did when I had it returned about a month ago.

I am quickly losing faith in this model and I beleive it isn't designed for longevity.
Do you think I should contact Sony tommorow and tell them my problem and hope they will repair it again for free (its only 6 months into its warranty)

Does anyone have any pleasant expierences with the FW? I am beginning to regret my purchase again, im trying to have faith in my FW because everything else about it is perfect, its fast, cool and solid.. its just those damn "barrels" either side of it.

Ironically the on/off switch casing is solid and I have never had an issue, obviously the tech who repaired my machine didn't really put a lot of effort into tightening it.
    Thanks.

You have started so many threads about your FW and its barrel hinge issues. Perhaps it's time to ebay your FW and look for a new notebook, Sony VAIO or another brand. The new EB series is affordable, has decent specs, and does NOT have the barrel hinges built into the design. Really, it's time to break up with the FW.

All these threads and no pictures, no videos....nothing!

Is it really bad or is it just in your head?

Our opinion is not going to determine whether or not your FW is bad enough that it's going to break.

" I really need your opnion on something" that's the least informative thread subject line I saw so far. :)

I practically saw the flames on this one before I opened this thread. But really, my motto with technology (especially notebooks and smartphones) is, "If you don't absolutely LOVE it, get something else". I'd say go to a big box retailer and have some "hands on" time with some models, and if you like the build quality and after reading some online reviews and doing some research, get it where you can find it cheapest. Personally, this is the reason I steered away from the FW and ended up with the CW, after I loved it at BBY. And to this day I don't think I've read a negative review on the CW.
