    Hello.

Since buying my Vaio 3 months ago I have been plagued with this notion that the power barrel (left side) will snap off.. when I push the barrel in it goes in slightly, it moves when I push it.. I wanted to know if it is supposed to be like this or if its a fault.

Any insight would be greately helpful, is the barrel your power input in wobbly?

I have the same fear... The cover over the power input makes a faint noise when I poke it and it is wobbly, but it seems unlikely to break off.

The left barrel issue is a common problem amongst those with FW and it seems it's a design issue. It all depends if you're lucky or not. I had my FW since August 08 and even though it's fragile, it hasn't fallen off but I also stopped poking at it and moving it around. I just let it be.

well time will tell. the vulnerable input area snapped off the other day from my machine. the Sony store charged my battery so I could back up. then back it goes. "it might not be covered by the service plan. they may call it physical damage"
