    I want to change Sony VPCEA16FA display ??

    Hiii eveyone ,

    I have Sony Vaio VPC-EA16FA with 14 inch display of 1366x768 resolution and i have another sony vaio VPC-CW26FA of also 14 inch display but 1600x900 resolution ..... what i want to do is to replace the higher resolution of the CW26FA to put it onto the EA16FA ....

    and here is a link to the specs. of both laptops ...

    W26FA & the EA16FA ..

    So Can this be done & How ??
    Really please help me..

    I'm afraid that even if you managed to change the lcd's your HD 5650 graphics card wouldn't be able to display at 1600x900. Check if your graphics adapter allows for resolutions higher than 1366 x 768, which it probably won't. If it does then the upgrade is feasible from a computing point of view and then you'll have to check for hardware compatibility, i.e. interfacing and dimentions.

    I guess it can as there is anew releases EA series also with 5650 HD of 1600x900 res. screen and according to th is site , the max resolution is 1920x1200 ..

    and also the EB series of 5650 HD with Full HD screen 1920x1080p

    The 5650 has no issues with resolution.

    thats all ok , but i wanna know how to do that & is this dangerous for average user to do that ??

    You should be sure of the compatibility of the connectors, I don't have any knowledge in screen replacement but sony seems to like changing connectors (see ZIF connectors for Z11 SSDs and mSATA for Z12 ones)...
