    IE7 and Protector Suite

    I updated to IE7 and now my Protector Suite QL is not working with web pages. Any thoughts on this? Is this more Sony proprietary issues or is there an easy Protector Suite update?

    More detail about the problem. The first tab, or leftmost tab still seems to have all of protector suites functionality, but the lower tabs are not recognized at all by the suit. Any ideas?

    This behavior also applies to Firefox. You can only use it w/ a tabless browser window.

    Any more thoughts on this. Has an update been released or is there a way around this. It seems strange that the suite will lose a good deal of its functionality after people merge over to IE7.

    I've been using IE 7 for a while now on my SZ and yeah - it only works best in the leftmost tab. It does sometimes work on the secondary tabs.... but not normally!

    The latest version on www.vaio-link is 5.3 and that's dated 13/6/2006.

    Sony says there is currently no update available for Protector Suite on IE7 & Firefox2 issue. So lets stay tuned!

    Outie, my Protector Suite works fine with Firefox 1.5. It is version 5.3.0. You can find it on the Sony support website.

    I am assuming (Big assumption I am sure) that Protector Suite will be updated now that IE7 has oficially launched. I think that the biggest issue now is that Protector Suite from what I have seen does not offer updates to "customers" but only vendors of products containing the Suite. I would really bet that Protector Suite already has a working solution to this issue. So I think that we will have to wait until Sony starts shipping units with IE7. Then hopefully Sony Support will catch up.

    Sometime in the last week, my IE7 started playing with my Sony Installed Protector Suite. I have no idea why. I am just guessing that in some auto update of IE7 in the past week, the software became friendly with the Protector Suite. Whatever the reason, it is a welcome surprise.

    Anything new guys for IE7 and protector suite issues? I think the new browser is going to be in automatic downloads very soon...

    I have done some more testing on this now. The interaction between the two programs is very inconsistent. I am going back to calling this issue "unresolved."
