None of the Vaio notebooks have IR Remote Control which I feel is very useful and has become standard since long in notebooks of other manufacturers, still I have not found anyone complaining about it in this forum. Does no one here miss the lack of it in their Vaios?

I would love to have it. But I think Bluetooth remote controllers are better since you don't have to "point it" to the notebook like IR Remotes does.

The IR receivers work nice with the media center remotes. It would be nice if this was just a standard feature on all new notebooks. Inexpensive and they don't take much space.

My VGN-AW92 (Japanese AW CTO) comes with a built-in IR port next to the wifi switch and bundled remote control. Works perfectly with Media Center and has basic hotkey buttons (Play/Pause, Stop, Prev, Next, VolUp, VolDn, etc; which work in all major audio and video players), as well as dedicated PVR buttons for use with Sony's HDTV software -- since I got my AW92 with ATSC tuners.
