I want to ask those who did a semi-clean or clean install of restore, how fast does your SZ machine hibernate? Mine takes about 6-10 seconds and that seemed a long compared to my celeron laptop which takes a less then 5 seconds. Does it have to do with the number of programs installed?

It has to do woth hard drive speed, size of ram, memory speed.

Basicly, it takes an image of what is in RAM at that moment, and writes that to the hard drive. So, HD and RAM performance is what will effect the speed.

I'm in the process of setting up a clean install on mine, I'll report when I get done.

Yep, try copying a file the same size as your ram 1gb, 512mb, whatever and you will see a similar time period pass. Mine takes around 6+ seconds just like yours and much like my W3V which also had 1gb of ram.

I have 1GB of RAM (and a clean install) and it takes about the same amount of time to hibernate.

Press hibernate ... power off: 20 seconds
Power button ... login screen: 20 seconds

Standby is about 5 seconds in each direction.

I did the semi-clean install, but I have quite a lot of extra junk installed now. :)
