I have a Sony Vaio, and when restored to factory settings, it works, but when I install XP it doens't. I thought it was installed on the MoBo?

Anyway, I installed XP on it. Any way to get QWA?

Splashtop is a bootable linux OS that works out of the root of C:\. It probably doesn't work because the bootloader is different between XP and 7 or Vista. I really don't see why people keep reverting to XP when 7 is vastly superior, especially on modern hardware.

I like the feel of XP more, and Windows 7 doesn't offer anything extra (to me, for what I use the machine for)

Does that mean I can just install Splashtop? I always thought it was stored on a chip on the MoBo

I guess you could try it. SplashTop is always in the root of C:\, and when the installer runs it ties that bootable folder into the Vaio Management app, so that when you push the WEB button, the BIOS knows where to look to find the boot files. But whatever floats your boat... different strokes I guess. :)

Okay, sorry to bump this thread but I just installed Windows 7 Home Premium, and now I'm looking for the QWA/Splashtop installer

I tried the European support site, and it doesn't come up for my model (VPCEB2M0E/WI)

I also looked on the US site, and there are some VPCEB models, but I don't want to download it just incase. Also, on the Splashtop website it doesn't say the E/EB model is supported :/
