    Hello,

I've done a search for all the 'Vista Clean Install' topics and couldn't find any specifics for installing my own 'Retail' copy of Vista.
As my SZ650 came with Vista Business and all the Sony extras I want to do a fresh install with the Sony Vaio drivers and updates listed on the Support Site.I'd rather do this than mess with the uncertainty of trying to 'clean up ' the Sony OS.
I have already made recovery dvd's,wiped out the original Vista and installed my own copy of XP Pro with Sony drivers and it works without issues.
My goal now is to go ahead and set up a 'Dual Boot' with my own Vista.
I've got a partition set up for Vista and I'm familiar with doing the install, there's just a couple questions I have regarding the driver and update sequence.

    1) The Support Site list all the 'Original' installed drivers plus updates for software, bios and Microsoft patches.Should I install the 'Originals' and let 'Vaio Update' take care of the updates or should I install the updates manually.

    2) In looking through he drivers I don't see the Intel Graphics Media Accelorator Driver for 'Stamina' mode.Is this part of the 'Chipset' driver or is it included in one of the Sony Utilities or applications.

    3) If anyone has succesfully done this install scenario I would very much appreciate your comments.

My goal is to have lean and mean XP and Vista running on my machine at there best without the influence of the Sony imposed footprint.

Don't worry about the Intel driver as the latest version will be picked up automatically once you run a Windows Update. That way you don't install the crappy intel app just to install it. you dont need to modify any settings on this crappy chipset so y bother install it's full driver package? just let windows update take care of it.
