    Hi,

Is it possible to buy and install the WWAN module in a VPCZ1?

    Mine is Core i7/8GB/256GB SSD/FHD.

    Cheers.

Anyone? Do you happen to know which module Sony uses?

Sony use a Gobi 2000 card in the VPC-Z.
Getting hold of this card is a little tricky.
You can see the problems that a forum member has here with a Acer unlocked Gobi 2000 card. Sony will charge a lot for this card as a spare part if and when it is sold through Sony spare parts etc.

This is the thread i was referring to

I don't know if Sony have the North American wwan daughterboard listed in the Sony parts store but check the part number of a model that did come with wwan.

Other than the board you will need the antenna of course and the connection cable.

    Hey cheers for the reply.

I thought it would be easier that than. I'm gonna stick with iPhone tethering I guess.
