I just purchased a new VAIO laptop with an I5 chip. This model (F series I think) has the WEB button which opens a window using Mozilla browser really quick. I like this feature. I was told that SSDs are the way to go now day and installed one. A Corsair F115. It works great, fast as hell but I lost the function of my WEB button. The button still operates but rather than starting the web browser I get a message that says Splashtop Browser needs to be reinstalled. I've tried this with no luck. Can anyone tell me if there is a way around this or will it be a trade-off. Thanks

You can try downloading the free, "universal" Splashtop OS here:

Main product page for downloading Splashtop OS

Just installed it for fun on an HP computer I'm working on and it works like a charm. Sony installations can be, ah, finnicky, so no guarantees here.

Also, have you checked the software and drivers section of the Sony support page for your specific model? These are often the only ones that will run on your computer, and may be well out of date vs. what the mfr has on their own site, but the are guaranteed to run on your computer. That said, a majority of drivers and programs downloaded and installed directly from the brand's website (best example: Intel) will work perfectly and be more up to date than the most recent ones on the Sony site.

Good luck. Sorry to see you had to wait 6 days for a single reply; not usual for this forum and not very generous - myself included

See how it works and report back!
