Is it possible? Is there any space in the notebook to buy an additional sanddisk ssd to plug it in?Hope to get some input here, thanks!

perhaps through the express card slot if the tz has one
-
the TZ has express card slot but i don't want to use the SSD through that because its limited by the usb bus. Connecting it directly on the zif seems like the best option.

i believe since you have the odd and hdd then there is no more room inside

You could change the 100GB drive over for an SSD.

I would love the speed of a SSD but I can't see the price/gig and losing all that space until they come out with some big ones.
But I agree you would prob have to replace the HDD with the SSD.
Why don't you put your 100gig HDD in an enclosure and put the SSD in the TZ? Then you could use both!! -
Don't know if this is possible: put the SSD in the room for the Epresscard slot and then change the wiring so that the SSD is connected to the 2nd ATA controller. (does the TZ have 2 ATA controllers?)

my dream solution for TZ for speed improvement...is to wait till next year.
when 2.5" SSD is affordable, get 64GB SSD model, replace 160GB, and make this primary, (i.e., install OS here). Then get 64GB 1.8" SSD and replace my(old) 32GB samsung. I would sell this samsung SSD before the price drops too quick!.
with 120GB space, I think this is well-enough. any additional spaces could simply be moved using another 2.5" USB external HDD (by next year, one could get 250-300GB 2.5inch HDD) easily. -
I plan on upgrading my 32 GB SSD to a 64 GB one early next year. I will already have my 250 GB external, so 64 GB SSD + an internal DVD was my choice from the beginning.
Either that, or I wait for a revision of the SZ that suits me. It would need to have a TZ-style keyboard, SSD option, and a new CPU and graphics card platform.
