Installing XP instead of Vista on VGN-FZ21MR HELP :)

Hi, i am about to install XP onto a new Laptop i got today that came with Vista. So far the setup started i can see the Partition on which Vista is installed. Im afraid ill be having problems with the drivers, so if anyone can help please if i will have the problem

 

well i installed Xp its running and all and now starts the Drivers Hunt lol
btw is there any Sony Vaio Utility Program that will download the drivers from inet?

Yes after long long search on all sorts of forums i found the Nvidia graphics driver i needed. Its so f uped that they dont have this driver onthe official nVidia website. Which just proves how Microsoft is forcing every computer brand to use Vista and make drivers mainly for vista

FOUND EVERY SINGLE driver for VGN-FZ21MR
if any one every needs them let me know ill upload them all somewhere

 

better look around a bit... there are various topics on the drivers for xp, for fz series...

Oh really???? What about power mangement? What about the function keys, like the brightness keys? Do those all work? Sony's own site says they do not.

Power managment works and all FN keys work even the brightness key hahaha

 

Well honestly now checkin stuff with other people i also have the problem with the earphones, when i plug em in the speakers are still playing but owell i dont really use earphones

 

i am kinda skeptic about that... considering your attitude as well...

 

What exatly you mean?
the fn keys work lol, u want me to make a film on how they work lol.
The only problem now with the brightness key is that you can make it less brighter by more then 50%
but the volume, fn mute and all the other fn are working perfectly fine well i dont have any thing to test the input fn

 

I have carried out this task on a Sony VGN-AR51M but still have problems with the Video and the FN,Eject, & Volume buttons.

If I can be of any help let me know

The Sound is now perfect

I now have the correct drivers for Nvidia Geforce 8400M GT this has now
given me a good screen improved scrolling.

So on to getting the fN , EJECT Ect Ect Buttons to work

Ok, then please share with all of us what you did to get these to work? Where did you find the power managment app. How did you get the brightness keys to work, when Sony's own site says they do not under XP. Did you find another source for the apps?
