I need to install Windows XP while Windows Vista is pre-installed on my Sony Vaio VGN-FZ4000. I dont have any floppy drive. I have partioned the hard drive into 3. one for Vista(C), one for XP(D) and one for my data(E). I have also assigned new drive letters to recovery partition. Can any one please guide me how can I install Windows XP on my Drive D.

When i boot from XP Installation CD, it says that no drive have been found. Some forums says that I need to install SATA drivers and bla bla..... but doesnt fount any step by step installation method. Please help..

Use the search box at the top of every page here. Type in "XP SATA Slipstream" without the quotes. You will find what you are looking for.

I wonder why FZ requires a special SATA driver when installing XP. I have SZ, it has SATA harddrive too but it doesn't require any special driver when I install XP retail version.

If that is the case then the SZ must have a BIOS setting to disable the SATA mode. Because from what I know, XP always requires a SATA driver to access a drive in SATA mode.
