    Hi

I have a SZ230P and was thinking about replacing the HD with a SSD drive. I was wondering if anyone had experience with this and if there is some kind of walkthrough on how to set it up. Thanks in advance!

Thanks for the info! That's very helpful!

Does anyone have info on how to setup the SSD after putting it into the system?

I think you just install your os from a disc onto the drive. I've never done it but there should be plenty of info out there(and here) on the subject :)

I have an OCZ Core V2 inside a SZ780. When I use the SSD with Vista, there are stuttering issues -- long pause when writing small files, Outlook, and some program installs. After lots of reading, here is what I have learned.

    - Most of what I learned is from the OCZ forum. You should do some research yourself.

    - If your OS is Vista or XP, then you may need to align the SSD partition before a fresh Windows install. However, if you are burning from an image, Windows 7 may save you.

    - I just upgraded to Windows 7 and it is running smoothly even without partition alignment. I am happy so far.

    - Another option is to buy MFT software. I would skip this option for now and see what Windows 7 can offer. Some users say MS will further refine Windows 7 for SSD.

    - Turn of indexing, windows automatic defrag. More tweaks available on OCZ forum.

That's it for now. You can learn thoroughly on the OCZ forum.
