What is the advantage of using Intel Pro Set Wireless as opposed to Windows XP Built In Wireless software? Does Intel make wireless connection more secure? I already turn on Windows XP Built-In Firewall.

Can I just install Intel Wireless Driver and let XP handles internet connection instead? I would like to keep my Windows as clean as possible, so if I don't really need it I would love to get rid of it.

It's really personal preference. Keep whichever you prefer. As long as you have the intel proset drivers installed, XP should manage your wireless connections just fine.

When I removed Intel Pro Set Wireless software, SmartWi Connection Utility CPU resources jumped to 50 to 75%, even when I don't use it. When I reinstalled Intel Pro Set Wireless software, the CPU resources fell back to 1 to 2%. Very weird?!
