I never bothered to try WIDI on my Z22 until last week. Netgear has recently launched a new product, the NeoTV200s Amazon.com: Netgear NTV200S NeoTV Pro Streaming Player: Electronics that has the same functionality as the Push2TV box but it is also a pretty extensive commercial video streamer (Netflix, VuDu, 15 more) and it costs less - $69 at Amazon!

Well everything about this setup worked great the first time I set it up, but every time thereafter the WIDI transferred the screen image perfectly but with no audio. I've tried all manner of reinstallation of drivers, updating drivers from Intel, going back to Sony drivers and I find that each time I get the audio working the first time after changing drivers but then it goes away again and never comes back unless I re-do the drivers again. What's even more confusing is that when I bring up the "Sound" window from Windows Control Panel it shows that WIDI is the default sound playback device and the VU meter shows audio pumping through, but no sound gets to the TV. I also know that I have the latest firmware for the device.

Negear's tech support is nearly useless. They did spend a fair bit of time ostensibly trying to help but were essentially clueless. Finally they concluded I had a defective unit and suggested I get it replaced, which Amazon quickly obliged. Same exact results.

When I Google the problem I find virtually no reports of this kind of problem and even the Amazon customer reviews show nobody experiencing it. Thus I'm thinking it's unique to my Z2, but where?

    Any thoughts most appreciated.

Somebody/ Anybody? Given how few problems I've seen people report using WIDI and no reports of the problem I am having using the (relatively newly released) Netgear NeoTV200s, I'm thinking it's a software bug in my Z2 which is why I need some expertise from the NBR Sony forum "brain trust."

    Somebody? Anybody?

I got a Netgear Push2TV PTV3000 this Christmas 2013, and... I was experiencing exactly the same problems : sound worked initially but after a few days it stopped systematically after a couple of minutes.
Recently I changed the sounds settings on the computer where the assumption was that the speakers of my TV would transmit only a part of the sound and that a woofer would complement them : I now crossed the other box indicating that all sound is transmitted by only two speakers on my TV.
So far the full system seems to work fine for hours !
