Hi, I have a Sony Vaio S Series Laptop Model # SVS151290X with Windows 8. I have no conflicts in Device Manager, however when I run the Intel Driver Update Utility it displays that the Intel Wireless Display adapter is present but not compatible with the operating system. How can I make sure the WiDi adapter is detected? What entries in Device Manager should I look for? Thanks
-
There is no device under Device Manager for such WiDi.
You should download and install all newest drivers for Intel HD 4000, Wifi and WiDi.
You can go to station-drivers.com for the newest drivers (all digitally signed) -
Hi, thanks for the link. But, what do you mean by that? AFAIk every hardware device should be listed in Device Manager. -
WiDi is a combination of 2 devices which are already installed, Intel Graphics and WiFi.
There is no actual specific hardware device for WiDi.
However, WiDi is hard to setup under Windows 8.
