    no... the WWAN slot is not a true miniPCIe slot, only the USB traces are active.

    It might work in the WiFi slot, if it does... you could get a WiFi USB/miniPCIe card. There was a thread around here about WiFi cards that work on the USB type miniPCIe slots... but alas the Intel card probably won't work in the WiFi slot.

    There are essentially three types of miniPCIe that I know of.
    USB only > like your WWAN slot
    PCIe/USB > most common the WiFi slot on the Z has this, I know because I am running a 6230 which is a Combo BT>USB/WiFi>PCIe card
    and mSATA/PCIe/USB > the kind that most DELL and Lenovos have

    The Intel card requires that SATA traces be active on the miniPCIe slot. There are other SSD cards that have a SATA controller build in and don't require mSATA on the slot, but if you get one of those it would still have to go in the WiFi slot.

    Yes, I use this, 48Gb,
    That would still make it bootable ;)
    probably in the BIOS should something corrected .... :)))

    I am not quite sure what you mean, but be advised, I have been reprimanded for talking about running OSX on non-apple hardware in this forum, it is against the forum rules.
