Find the tethering software for your phone, make sure you have unlimited data, and make sure your phone company doesn't require a special tethering plan. Then you're all set.

depends what phone you have. you may/may not need any tethering software.

i've got an htc tytn (on cingular but not the at&t/cingular branded version). all i do is go to programs->internet sharing, select bluetooth PAN and my network connection and hit 'connect', and i'm off an running!

i'd definitely check to make sure your data plan allows tethering. you can get slammed with some MAJOR charges if it doesn't.

I used to connect my palm tx with my sony ericcson with ATT. It cost way too much at $0.01 per kb. Reading my e-mail cost me 0.75-1.00. If you have an unlimited plan it is possible but very slow. I found out everything I needed to know from howardsforums. Be prepared to read through the blog for your particular model phone settings and your particular provider settings. You have to have a data plan or data access with your voice plan. For me ATT had some data plans which were very costly, or you could use thier .01/kb option which came automatically with most plans. Good luck.

If you have a WM phone, get a program called PDANet. It works like a champ and it "masks" your usage from the carrier, so no PAM plan is needed if your carrier requires that. Works w/BT also.
