Is SSD really the hotness - what is causing these *mini freezes*.

On my TZ90 running Vista, the experiance has been bleh sofar...
It's only marginally faster on bootup. Battery life is better but I can't do a AB comparison as my previous rig was a 14.1 Thinkpad Series with another battery in the ultrabay drive.

However, what drives me nuts is the occasional *mini freezeup* *minute stalls* with the SSD drive. While I have not put alot of thought/troubleshootuing in what is causing these stalls, I have read previous post on Vista being the issue for it.

However, I'm not having the same stalls/mini freezes on my Thinkpad with 7200 RPM drive...

Try running HDTune, and then post your results.

I have no such mini-freezes on my TZ195... Know this doesn't help but just wanted to let you know. (I removed all the Sony bloatware and reduced background processes to a minimum, which may be a contributing factor.)

That happened to my tz90 with ssd+sata drive. Turned out the SSD was toast. Bad news, still trying to get it replaced been 4 months now. Samsung refuses to accept the fact that they even have part number on my ssd

That is a common trait with the original Sandisk drives...

There is not much I can do about the ssd now. It doesn't work in a usb adapter... so I am screwed until Samsung replaces it... I am not holding my breath
