is sony worth the expence. ive never used a sony comp but a friend has one. it seems alittle slow but maybe because of low ram. if you compare dell to sony, is there any difference in performance and also in price

Performance is decided by the components inside, not the brand name stenciled on the outside. There is simply not going to be any generalized rule for this.

Price wise, it's hard to beat Dell, but quality, design, and innovations give Sony some edges for those people who need them.

If you don't know yet , most brands don't manufactor their machines themself so sometimes the brand name has no meaning as the same manufactor make Sony , Dell etc. (ODM)

Once a Sony loyal customer , I now stay away from anything Sony after a DVD player fiacso ( Try searching google for +sony +c13 +error )

If you want a Sony check the specs vs. price , Sonys are usually more designed machine with relative lower specs compared to other same price level notebooks .

If you want value for money in terms of parts/$ go with Dell or HP.

Higher price dosen't always mean better quality , each model should be checked on its own .
