I registered my SZ yesterday online so I could get the 20% discount coupon for the extended battery. I was expecting the coupon by e-mail but by this morning when I didn't receive it I called Sony.
A very friendy guy answered and when I explained to him I wanted the coupon fast because today was the last day for free shipping he told me he would get me to the front of the customer support line. Now I don't know if he was kidding or not but two minutes later a very friendly young lady answered and when I explained the situation she apoligized and said she would generate a coupon right away. She didn't even ask for the serial # of my computer, she asked me to hold for a minute and gave me a 20% discount coupon over the phone. Now I couldn't have asked for a better experience. Hope I'm not jinxing it now that I'm admitting this!

Well this is a revenue generating opportunity. So would be suprising if they weren't falling over themselves to send you the coupon.
If they dont send you the coupon you might not buy the battery. If they do, their up $200. Or whatever it is minus 20%. -
FYI, sonystyle runs the free shipping offer quite frequently.
Is Sony customer service really that bad?
